Dog Friendly Parks – There are dog off leash areas
Inner East
Centennial Park is the largest park in the city of Sydney area and it’s a must-visit destination for nature lovers. The park boasts incredible walkways and plenty of shady spots to relax and unwind. You can use the BBQ and enjoy a picnic with your friends and family.
There’s plenty of space for your furry friend to run around and exercise. The park is home to black swans, ducks, fish, birds and other wildlife that you can spot while strolling around.
Keep an eye out for the horses trotting around the dirt bridal path. They’re a sight to behold! If you’re lucky, you might even spot some flying foxes hanging out on the trees near the duck pond. How cool is that!
The Fly Casting Pond is another great spot to check out. You can always find turtles and fish swimming around in the pond.
Just be careful when walking on the path with your dog. There are skateboarders, cyclists and horses around, so keep your furry friend on a leash and stay safe.
Tips
- If you’re driving to Centennial Parklands, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a lot of free parking available. Just watch out for the timed parking near the major gates, it’s a bit of a bummer.
- Watch out for horse manure, we saw a dog make a bee-line towards it and had a great time rubbing the smelly goodness (from his perspective) all over his body. Guess it’s bath time when he gets home!
- Just look out for the signs on the sides of the driveways, it clearly signed on-leash and off-leash point.
- Want to know more? Go to the Centennial Parklands website and look for a signpost on site.
